The mourners were egged on by the TV news, which broadcast hours and hours of people wailing grown men with tears rolling down their cheeks. Children came in for constipation that was so acute they were doubled over in pain, screaming. Housewives had started to pick weeds and wild grasses to add to their soups to create an illusion of vegetables. It looked like Armageddon. And what's crazies you hear all these bureaucratic names, that's what's crazy about it, all these government organizations picking away at the people.
