Do I Need a Scalp to Perform a Resuscitative Cesarian Section?
The biggest obstacle to performing a resuscitative cesarian section is a scalpel. You don't need baetodine, drapes or towels - you just need a scalp. And that can be hard to find if it's not kept either on the code cart or near to the code curtain. So most of the teams that i work with, we arrange, they work through their systems so that when it's pulled to a pregnant woman's bedside, the scalpe is already there and ready to go. But really, truly, all you need is a Scalpel to get started.
