There were signs that neurogenesis happened er in the sixties, people could see what looked to be mi like mitotic cells. They didn't have unambiguous verification that these were neurons. In the nineties, new microscopes, antibodies that could target nerons and noglia became available. And so that was happening. After the inis background of knowing that the brain cand change structurally, i o things i thin came together to allow it to begin to be accepted.
