The Importance of Wahm in Philosophical Arguments

Al-Hazali is very interested, one might almost say obsessed, with the question of whether arguments are demonstrative. The way he proceeds in the tahafat anticipates what we will find among generations of authors in the Asharite tradition. He says Avicenna and his followers have actually abandoned Islam.
