What Is Diffusionism?

Voltaire was not making any kind of archaeological argument here, certainly not in the sense that you or i would talk about to day. He was instead arguing in favor of a concept in vogue at the time called diffusionism. The bad part is that voltaire focuses a lot on the jews and specificaly them as stealing their culture from older cultures rather than inventing anything of their own.
