Do You Think It's in Service of Competition?

Kiley writes that she feels discriminated against by people in her own tribe. She asks: What do you think this sort of discrimination is in service of? Do you think it's in service of competition? Is it a natural response? Or are there other possibilities, such as an ego defence or strategic response to the treatment they're receiving. Kiley also wonders if we value smallness and exclusivety more than a larger tribe.
