I think what's really interesting about your book is that at least in this first category of the kind of anti humanist you mentioned, the pessimist, they're basically saying either it's too late or humanity's not worth saving anyway. There are some people who look at the record of things like climate pledges and agreements to limit, say, the parts per million of carbon in the atmosphere. But there are also people who say the price, even if we could meet them, the price would be too high because it would mean that we would have to live in an even more technological world than we do now.
