The Different Types of Slap Tears
There is a big variation in attachment of the long head of biceps into the superior labrum. Depending on the same mechanism of trauma it can potentially have a very different effect in different athletes. The two most common descriptions of pain relating to slap lesions are either deep anteriorly or posteriorly. Up to 50 percent of patients with slap lesions that go on to have surgery because of specific symptoms don't actually have any mechanical symptoms.
