Rome had a weird system that is sort of reflected in the Carthaginian system the consulship they were nervous about military dictatorship quite rightly and so they elected two consuls to because you wanted a two-headed beast it wasn't efficient. There was an honor to be admitted to the infantry the proletari which means what you'd think the lower social class sort of the property list class rightYeah did not get to be infantry I mean you wouldn't think this get to be Infantry get to be have a spear stuck in your eye but yeah that's the way Rome worked.
