Converus's Eye to Tech Technology Is Attempting to Change Federal Regulations to Allow Lies
Converus, Inc. is attempting to change federal regulations to allow lie detection technologies other than just the polygraph. Unlike a polygraph, which relies on an operator asking questions and measuring physiological responses like heart rate and perspiration, Converus's technology measures cognitive load with an algorithm that processes eye movement. A member of Converus's own advisory board expressed skepticism about the reliability of eye detect in an interview with MIT technology review. San Francisco police can now watch private surveillance cameras in real time.
