The Dollar's Role in the Global Economy
Dollar dominance is firmly entrenched for many good reasons. A globalized economy needs a single currency for ease and efficiency. The share of dollars in global central bank reserves has dropped from roughly 70% to 60%. America's politicians have gotten very used to spending seemingly without any concern about deficits.
