Is Inflation the Better Problem to Have Than Deflation?

Inflation is something that we, you know, at least, price increases are a sign that demand is running ahead of supply. Right now, we are in the unusual situation of actually having supply difficulties. But on balance, would we rather have strong demand given any level of available supply? You bet you we wouldrather have strong demand. So of the problems to have, inflation is the better problem to have than deflation. As for authoritarians and democrats, i mean, china, frankly, the biggest authoritarian regime, the most successful in economic terms, is highly sensitive to inflation. And stamps on it rapidly if it emerges, especially in food stuffs like pork.
