Behold the Handmaid of the Lord, Be It to Me According to Thy Word

Mary was being asked to be an unwed, pregnant Jewish girl at a time when that was going to cause a great deal of pain in her life. She said: Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy word. I just think that's such a beautiful attitude and why Mary was so great. All of us will be asked to do difficult things, to give up things that will interfere with raising our children or preparing our flock for the world. Whatever those things are, this is what we need to have.
