The Cost of Macron's Failure to Reform Social Security

In the United States we have our own substantial entitlement problems but both parties have successfully kicked the can down the road or ignored the problem. Republicans at certain points have paid lip service to this but I can't imagine a universe where they would even try to reform. Trump has said the opposite. He's he will probably be the nominee and he's like we will not touch Social Security. Yeah they've completely abandoned that language. Why are they doing that?
