The BMA's Rejection of the BMA Contract Offer
GP practices are providing record numbers of consultations to a patient population that's aging and increasingly complex. Many of them facing long waits for hospital treatment because of the massive NHS backlog. Practices having to deliver this workload with a workforce that's down by the equivalent of nearly 2000 GPs compared to 2015. BMA leaders say that unless something changes more GPs will leave and those that remain may be forced into industrial action in order to protect their profession.
