The Overview Effect Is Important

The first images of Earth from the moon came back in 1968, Apollo eight. All major legislation related to the modern environmental movement occurred while we were on the moon. The United States founded the Environmental Protection Agency which immediately banned lead from the environment. We took a step back and said, Oh my gosh. We're all in this together.
