People that have been in abusive relationships and childhood are statistically more likely to be in abusive relationships later on. And it's because of this learned helplessness. Is there any purpose that learned helplessness can serve? You know, how has this thing survived the test of evolution? If it serves no purpose, why do we see it among the species? Or is it an unwanted side effect of a different adaptive mechanism?
