Government Can't Do a Similar Thing, Right?
John Avlon: We often say, like, markets give you what you want. And then government is giving you these things that you wouldn't want or don't want. He says if we ran markets by having consumers check off or fill in the blanks, our markets would look very different and much more impoverished than they do. Avlon: Any libertarian who says governments can't provide things that are either good or people want is over selling the point. The question is whether not that something government should be doing.
