Why Gerard Emphatically Rejects Sacrifice and Offering

In his magnum opus, things hidden since the foundation of the world, he rejects what he calls the sacrificial reading. The idea that God sent his son or God manifested himself to be killed, to be sacrificed to redeem everyone of their sins. Gerard's whole point with Christianity is that Christ is here to reveal the injustice of this logic. He backtracks a little bit in his last work, but only nominally.
