The Transcontinental Railroad Workers Strike

The 1867 Chinese railroad workers strike has been relatively overlooked. It was a hugely important moment of collective power, though it didn't lead to hugely improved working conditions or pay. Construction of the railroad spanned seven years. Two years after the strike, in the spring of 1869, the tracks from the east and the west come within spitting distance.
