Sally Kohn: We need a bit of anxiety. I would even say, because we need stress. Chronic stress is what causes burnout. The more chronic stress we have in our work and our life mostly our work burnout has been traditionally defined as a workplace phenomenon though it's impossible to distinguish between these environments over time. It's fascinating. There are six areas of our work that contribute to this phenomenon of burnout but it's the chronic stress that comes from it all that contributes to this exhaustion, cynicism and feeling of productive.
