Annette Kellerman: A Woman Swimmer

Annette Kellerman was one of the best swimmers of her era. She won numerous races in Europe and sailed for the United States to perform at amusement parks and theaters. Her Vaudeville act involved a combination of swimming, high-diving water stunts and mermaid shows. In 1916 she had a scene in which she was completely nude, although part of her body was covered by hair.
