If humanity continues down our current path, we will not survive. Our technology is too powerful and we are all hooked together in one global system. We have to repurpose ourselves together in a way that does not create a disadvantage for us. Otherwise, those that refuse to come along will simply inherit the earth and keep going down this self-destructive path.
