The Physiocratic Programme and the French Revolution

The physiocrats want the monarch to act as a legal despot and put into practice these laws of nature. There's a real push in the 1760s, there's another push in the1770s with Turgot. Afterwards, again, the disciples, DuPont de de D'amour, Condor Se, people like that, begin to argue that if we can't rely on the monarch,. then we have to look at provincial assemblies. The aim is to give power to those who own the soil - they will help the monarch to put into practice the physiocratic programme.
