Is the Current Approach to AI Sustainable?

If you were to lead AI in the United States, what are some things you would like to see happen or type of ideological shifts and how we approach AI? And also what are some dangers that you've identified with the current approach and why it's not sustainable? So is this kind of like if I were, if I rolled the world, the AI world, what would I do?
