It was a sin bad screenwriting seminar. It's a guy named David S. Freeman. He had this list of 40 rooting influencer techniques that he said you could find in the first act of successful films. In the class we watched Wally, which has no dialogue for the first act. And so he showed how with no dialogue, Pixar used these rooting influencers to make us fall in love with the robot without actually ever hearing him utter a word or anyone really utter a word.
