Growing up outside of the us, but with a. Passport, helped me to be in touch more with what that meant to be an am an citizen in a place where not everybody was. And so i had to figure out, what does it mean to be particularly american, and sort of recognize that there's so much diversity of folks who have ou s passports. We tend to think of ourselves as not a specific tradition or having a history. But why might it be really important for us to understand that?
