After the cave-in, no one wanted to work in the mines anymore as they were unsound. The mayor dispatched five citizens to neighboring realms for assistance and some trade. But I really don't know what happened with them. So basically everybody had to change their profession and find other means of work. No one's even attempted to unearth the mine.
