The Importance of Deeper Cuts in Layoffs
In general, it's better to over cut and then rehire, particularly in this very good hiring environment. I've had some conversations with founders where they've said, well, we're gonna lay off 20%. Why is it 20%? Well, let's run through your plan. Then it turns out they should really lay off 50%. And so I do think people are making mistakes by worrying a little bit too much about employee perception.
