The Benefits of Electric Eels
In the early Roman world, you would have just sort of gone to Grandpa. Plant-based cures were more widely available and probably more sensible than electrigating this off with an eel. You wanted to get your drugs from an expert and pharmacologists. Cato the Elder recommended for pretty much all diseases, cabbages, just eat cabbages. And if you could afford it, you might travel to one big cities such as Athens or Smyrna where there were medical centers.
