Manuela scins was born out of wedlock in quito in 17 97. She grew to be a fire breathing patriot, and became the wife of an english merchant named james thorn who resided in lima. When she learned that quito had been captured by belivar's forces, she rushed home to protect her father from reprisals. The two fell for each other after meeting at a celebratory ball held the night of his arrival in quito. An old peninsula set what could do no one else on the south american peninsula without help would not survive.
