How to Deal With High-Jacked Attention
When your attention is high-jacked, one way that you commonly do it is to literally think of anything else and kind of focus on something to push away this thought. So what I would suggest instead is to first of all notice non-judgmentally that your awareness has been hijacked a little bit. And then rather than either engaging with that thought or fighting it, so neither engaging or fighting, instead choose to just become aware of the space around you instead. A couple of ways into that might be, imagine that there's an aircraft miles off your head, just check in that you could hear it if it were possible to hear it.
