How Do We Measure the Increase of Life on a Farm?

The best way to measure, or to see if a landscape or a farm is moving forward. The quantity and the quality of the preducts on a farm may be the easiest to measure. But maybe it's a proxy for the over all life in the ecosystem. And there's also the whole question of the food. There are real impacts, not just the sort of ecological health of the system,. but of the nutritive value of the food that is produced.
