The Case of a Man With a Bipolar Effective Disorder
The man was diagnosed with a variant of amanic depressive disorder. He had poor control over his impulses due to mood and energy upswings. The appellate judges agreed that the defendant's anti social behavior was a mental health issue that could be treated. Administrative blunders meant that he was returned to society without any court ordered guide lines, mandates or supervision. Later that same month, he managed to reach the wilderness outside the city as planned. But that didn't stop him from trying again.
