People with epilepsy have rebound issues with their neuron sending a signal. So we've hyperpolarized the cell and it's super negative. We need to pump those ions back to where they originated. That's why we have the sodium-potassium ATPase pump. Constantly pumping along, throwing three sodium out and two potassium in. It regenerates that electrical chemical gradient. Perfect.
