The Gita's Devotion to Arjuna
The Gita justifies action in terms of a devotional theism. It does not outright abandon a plurality of gods, but insists that one highest god is the true object of all proper worship. Devotion as exhortation to Arjuna then is not just to fight, but to wage war as a kind of sacrifice.
