If you want to minimize the interference effect that cardio can have on your strength training, limit it to no more than about half of the amount of time. Many people whom i have spoken with over the years who tried to get into that high flux category ran into problems. They would often estimate the amount of calories they were actually burning and underestimate the amount of caloriesthey were eating. And then there's also the time that goes into preparing all the additional food and cleaning up and so forth.
