"I generally in selecting my projects and experiments use excitement as a barometer. What gets you all hyped up and to determine that you don't sit down and think your way through it," he says. "The only way you do that is by throwing a lot against the wall and seeing what sticks" Get out and try things, make yourself uncomfortable; be more social. And if you are like me, very competitive, then when you find the overlap of something that excites you and something where you seem better than average, that often at least will give you something to work with for six months."
