The Metaphysical Unity of Love
We have the same dualism between people in the theological academy who are trying to say there's such a much bigger definition of love here. That love cannot be like reduced down to sex and that love is like this metaphysically unitive like holistic view of human desire. And so I was talking about Andes Newgren who was a 20th century Lutheran theologian who wrote a book basically pitting eros against the carpe. It got imbibed into Protestant churches, evangelicalism, purity culture, all sorts of really harmful dualisms which taught us that if we don't have sex we can't flourish.
