The Marriage of Old Lafayette and Audrienne

A huge assembly of guests fill a church decorated for a grand wedding. Lafayette and audrienne stand at the altar, but old king louis the fifteenth had other plans. People begin to weep, bolt out of their seats, rush from the cathedral as audrienne and lafayette stand and watch. Within moments, the entire cathedral is empty, and they stand alone facing an empty hall. We see louis, the sixteenth, aged 20, seated alongside marie antoinette at the head of a banquet table. And we return to the present interior, old lafayette's study.
