Transgender women have been competing openly since the mid 19 seventies, and officially distinguished themselves at the highest levels of collegiate, professional and olympit competition. Some people are concerned that allowing trans gender women to compete on competitive teams will take away opportunities from non-transgendered women. While none of these assumptions are founded in science, it is understandable that some men might be tempted to pretend to be transgender in order to win an easy victory. To paraphrase herodotus, call, no man fully educated until he is dead. And that's how it should be.
