The Enlightenment and the Dark Ages
There's been various attempts throughout human history to bring forms of light into the world. Scientists sought to create inventions that would give us light, make fuel sources extend longer or it somehow provides safety. Political structures were adopted to bring greater peace and safety. This is why many ancient peoples claimed to be descended from the sun. And even though as we look back on the period of the Enlightenment, we can all acknowledge that some good came out of that period.
