Menisa jahanger's mother asthma, pacistan's most prominent human rights defender, died last year. A group of women decided to carry asthma's body from her house to the ambulance and then escort the slow moving vehicle to prayers at the gadafi stadium in lahore. It was seen by some as an act of political and religious defiance. There was also a decree that those who have attended the funeral their marriage has been annulled.
