Shakespeare was grouped in the first folio according to genre That's comedies Histories and tragedies they didn't order them chronologically I don't know what the rationale behind the order was. King Lear is supreme after King Lear This is a funny choice because you might expect me to say Hamlet Because indeed King Lear and Hamlet are the two greatest plays of all time People can argue with me on that one.
