Twitter's revenues were last pegged at just over $5 billion this year, which means the deal price is a high multiple of revenues. Twitter makes more than 90% of its money from advertising and it has more to worry about than a general slowdown in ad spending. After Musk took over Twitter, there were reports of a surge in racial slurs on the platform. But three days later, Musk tweeted a baseless claim by a conspiracy website that a hammer attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband was a result of a lovers quarrel.
