How to Find Exoplanets With Transit Photometry
The only reason we haven't found more planets using this method is because planets aren't bright. Transit photometry works by having a telescope stare at a patch of sky and measure how much light you're getting from that patch of sky. You can also calculate like an average temperature, we call it the equilibrium temperature for a planet. There are many planets that we could not discover using the transit photometry method.
