The Theology of Galileo
While Galileo's overall argument was correct, the Earth does revolve around the sun. Some of the evidence Galileo presented didn't actually support that argument. Maybe there were real scientific arguments against the Copernican system they knew he couldn't answer. We don't know what role that played in Galileo's trial.
