It takes time to be able to get out of your own ego enough to look at the proposal on its merits rather than in terms of the way in which it's bugging you or triggering you. And that's the thing that I want to talk about, which is how this relates to power structures and power dynamics in organizations. The rounds are powerful because they make sure that the airtime is shared and one person doesn't get to take up all the space. It's useful from the perspective of giving marginalized voices same amount of airtime as anybody else.
