The Diagnostic Criteria for Autism
Criteria a is mostly around differences in social communication and social interaction. Criteria b is more focused on repetative patterns of behavior, interests or activities. To be considered an artistic person, you actually have to meet all three of the sub points in criteria a. The underlying difference between an artistic brain and a non artistic brain is differences in the way that the brain processes social information.
