The Galstonian Lectures on some abnormal, psychical conditions in children were presented before the Royal College of Physicians in London in March 1902. In his address, Still discusses this group as having an abnormal defect of moral control which he refers to as morbid, which means diseased. He was the first medical professional to really notice this constellation of symptoms and consider whether it was something on its own, as opposed to peroccurring symptoms from another underlying disease.
